Best paint apps for iPad, iPhone and Galaxy Note. Tips, Twitterings and Tutorials.

Week 29: Small, originally uploaded by purple0wl.

Run any iphone painting through the photo app 101 PhotoEffects, and even if you don’t transform your finger work into a masterpiece, you’ll learn a lot.

This seascape was painted on my iPhone in the app Inspire.

In Inspire you can choose how much paint to load onto your brush, or even load none. This allows you to smear and blend the existing colours to get subtle effects, something I really missed being able to do in earlier iPhone art apps.

All the same, when I had finished this imaginary seascape, I still felt it was rather insipid so I ran it through 101 Photo Effects.

Beware. Time can disappear as you watch 101 PhotoEffects transform your artwork into a sequence of fascinating and quite different images on your iphone or ipod.

If you like one of the results, you can save the altered image to your photo gallery. From there you can import it into another art app and work on it further .

Thanks Barb! I haven’t put any iphone paintings up at Painter Talk because – well, that’s for Painter! I have put some iphone paintings in my introduction collage for the Open Studio at Painter Talk though.
