Flyer Flower, originally uploaded by purple0wl.
Here you see the colour wheel for the HTC Flyer tablet stylus in all its glory. I have to admit it. That’s not a lot. Eight colours even counting black and white.
With a feather light touch and bit of luck you can blend these hues with the highlighter tool. However, just in case you get over-excited, the highlighter offers only half the colours, four.
Never mind. The Flyer stylus offers at least a beginning hint of pressure sensitivity. Something tablet and smartphone artists are keen to get their fingers on.
The HTC Flyer sylus can only be used with its own drawing app.
Happily there are quite a few Flyer tools. Pencil, ball point pen, brush, calligraphy pen, marker, highlighter and eraser.
All tools come in a choice of 5 widths.
Pity about that limited palette. To be fair the HTC Flyer stylus is only really made for making notes, highlighting text, signing documents and such. For those office tasks the Flyer can be really useful.

Call Sound Quality : Very Good to Excellent.
RAM usage is really a big issue on phones… I’ll try this Honeycomb. Sketchbook Pro just to see how fast it works !
All is fixed with Honeycomb. Sketchbook Pro works perfectly with pressure sensitivity. I’d like to get Adobe Ideas but not available for the Flyer…
Hey Valerie,
cool website!
I was wondering if you know which app has the lowest ram memory comsuption on the tablet. I just tried out magic doodle on my Acer Icon A500 and it was kinda slow :/
I was kinda hoping to have a cheap Cintiq using that table/app combo, but something tells me I am a little off my league… hehehe
Sorry I don’t know which Android painting apps are easiest on the memory – except by guessing from how many bells and whistles they have. Magic Doodle does have an enormous number of fancy brushes, so it may well use a lot of memory.
Fresco might be simpler. You could try it.
Autodesk Sketchbook has a free version that’s simpler than the bought variety. Sketchbook is so far about the best painting app you can get for Android – though I’ve discovered a few more that I have not tried out fully yet.
It’s a good idea to exit any painting app once in a while and close down to clear the memory. Even on the most powerful machines with the best apps, things slow down after a large number of operations.
