Accenture: Accenture positions itself to join the European defense trend: "We have been increasing our capabilities for some time"

The increase in defense spending will impact many sectors of the economy, including consultancy, and especially technology. Aware of this, Mercedes Oblanca , president of Accenture Spain, stated that the company has been "increasing its capabilities and resources for some time" in the sector, where it has a Defense and Aerospace consulting division and contracts and alliances with institutions such as the Spanish Air Force. "We have been increasing our capabilities for some time. We are redefining our strategy and also waiting to see the European Union's strategy," pointed out the executive at a press conference during the week the technology company celebrates its 60th anniversary. The company marked a record year by billing €1.791 billion in Spain , a 2.4% increase, and for the first time surpassing the $2 billion mark in the joint business with Portugal, managed from Madrid. In the future, it expects to continue growing, as it does not foresee a slowdown in the public sector after the end of European funds, whose execution rate has not met the group's expectations. The company is immersed in reinventing its consultancy business with artificial intelligence, an area that doubled its revenue in the past year but has not yet reached widespread adoption on a large scale. "All major companies are moving forward," stated Oblanca, who highlighted that the lack of qualified personnel may be holding back companies. In this regard, the company has one of Accenture's main innovation centers in Malaga for this technology globally. Where it expects a quieter year is in terms of acquisitions after completing three purchases in 18 months . Among them was Boslan, the largest operation among the 25 signed in the country and a significant integration challenge, as it also marked the entry into the engineering segment for energy projects for the group. "Each integration is unique, but we put a lot of effort into making them successful," noted the group's president.
