Large Intestine.image credit: A Manuel of Acupuncture- Peter Deadman, Mazin Al-Khafaji, Kevin BakerSo above - you can see the trajectory. The main function of this system, both energetically and physiologically, is to get rid of waste. This is the mechanism for letting go. Letting go of what your body no longer needs, and letting go of what YOU - your spirit, soul, consciousness - no longer need in your life. This is the last point at which your body can say 'HANG ON! NOT YET!"So what is the deal with letting go? What is the deal with it? It's a thing for everybody, to some degree. It's scary. What are you afraid of? It's a surrender of sorts- 'Thy will be done' and all that. Letting go means you will have empty space to fill. Letting go is moving away from something that is familiar - and into to something that is not. There is a certain amount of trust needed, in letting go at any level. From the physical to the spiritual. Maybe it is a trust in, and commitment to, ones own discernment? Maybe it is a trust in the natural unfolding of one's life? Some signs that Large Intestine meridian is out of balance are- constipation, diarrhea, food allergies, fatigue, abdominal pain... etc... Acupuncture and Herbal medicine are very effective at helping the physical body to more efficiently let go of waste, and supporting the energetic body in releasing what is no longer needed.-AnnaSubscribe to Anna's BlogSign up with your email address to receive news and updates.First Name Last Name Email Address Sign UpWe respect your privacy.Thank you!Anna Tron LAc is a licensed acupuncturist at the Alaska Center for Natural Medicine.
