John Lyons, director of sales at Alpine Fresh, Miami, is retiring after 30 years at the company. Lyons joined Alpine Fresh in 1990; he plans to remain a consultant to the company. CEO Walter Yager said Lyons played an essential role in the growth and success of Alpine Fresh. "John started with us in 1990 when we were an eight-person operation trying to find a place in the industry and with his guidance we have been able to grow into what Alpine is today," Yager said in the release. "It has been a fun ride and it was a pleasure to work alongside such a professional." Lyons said he learned different aspects of the business because Alpine Fresh employees "wore many hats" during its early days. "We had a small but determined team and we were very committed to growing the business," he said in the release. "We developed core values that we still use 30 years later. I've had the opportunity to watch Alpine Fresh grow from a very small company to a large organization and it has been a phenomenal experience."
