The restaurant chain will serve free meals to children ages 10 and under, with the purchase of an adult entree. Meal options include cheese pizza, chicken tenders, chicken quesadillas, grilled chicken alfredo, mac and cheese, a cheeseburger, a corn dog or chicken tacos. Connecticut Applebee's locations that will participate in the Easter special include its storefronts in Plainville, Willimantic, Torrington, Groton and Danbury. Only Applebee's locations owned by T.L. Cannon Companies in upstate New York, Connecticut and Sayre, Pennsylvania, will offer the Easter meal deal, according to a news release . "Our restaurants are part of the neighborhood, and on special days like Easter, we're proud to give back to the families who support us all year long. This is just one small way we say thank you-and help make the day a little brighter," Stephanie Griffin, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at T.L. Cannon Companies, said in a news release. Easter is not a state holiday in Connecticut, but many businesses decide to observe the Christian holiday. Target and Lowe's announced this week that their stores will be closed on Easter Sunday as part of a "retail blackout." According to The Old Farmer's Almanac , Easter is "always observed on a Sunday between March 22 and April 25" and falls on the first Sunday following the full moon that occurs after the spring equinox . It's falling on a date "late" this year given the full moon, the "pink moon," will occur the night of April 12, according to the Farmers' Almanac.
