Etherstack PLC (ASX:ESK) has confirmed the award of a US$1.2 million contract extension with Canadian utility company, ATCO Electric. Etherstack's satellite communications gateway devices enable "push-to-talk" services over satellite and 3G/4G networks for emergency services. ATCO is a diversified global corporation delivering business solutions in structures & logistics, electricity, pipelines & liquids, and retail energy. The contract extension states additional network equipment to be supplied by the company for ATCO's electricity distribution and transmission operations in Alberta, Canada. Etherstack's platform-independent software enables manufacturers and system integrators to introduce standards-based wireless communications products and networks. The company has R&D locations in 7 countries with its protocol stacks being exported globally and licensed by leading radio manufacturers. Etherstack's shares are having a great run on the ASX, rising more than 50% over the last three months to $0.26.
