Atlantic Blog Case Study: SES Government Solutions Design and Build

by Rhonda Babb, April 27, 2017Objectives:SES Government Solutions' stated mission is to provide "US Government Customers with superior satellite communications, hosted payloads, and end-to-end solutions to meet their mission critical needs." They were looking for an exhibit partner that could help them newly communicate this mission and showcase their capabilities at the 33rd Annual Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, CO. This 20'x20' island required several functional areas to meet specific needs including a daily live presentation that highlighted and utilized their custom-built satellite models to discuss payload missions, display of their satellite tracking program on a large touch-screen monitor, a private meeting space for show floor meetings, and plenty of secure storage area for their collateral and technology. And they wanted a sleek new look for their exhibit.Solutions:Atlantic's design team provided variations of designs to lock in just the right look, feel and functionality for the new exhibit. The final design provided a large overhead "butterfly roof" canopy which served as part overhead for the meeting space, part theater enclosure and part display area for satellite models. Additionally, large lightboxes and monitors enhanced the overall exhibit perimeter and created visual brand points throughout. Atlantic's project management and build teams engineered the exhibit and fabricated it in-house in our Washington DC headquarters with graphics being manufactured by our Graphics Manufacturing Team at our Service Operations Center.Results:The event was well attended and SES GS received positive feedback from attendees. As a bonus, there was an extra "buzz" on the event floor as Astronaut Buzz Aldrin paid a visit to the SES GS exhibit on the third day of the show.
