January 7th of this year marked my eight-year anniversary with Avatar Solutions. I had to look it up on my employment profile to be sure. Time flies, as they say!Since joining the firm, I've witnessed many changes occur in healthcare. One of the most transformational events ­is still developing - the recognition of the impact patient experience has on quality, safety, cost, and outcomes of care.During the last eight years, I've had the unique opportunity to work with hospitals, clinics, and practices of various sizes and demographics. As I've helped our clients collect and share ideas, it's become clear to me that the value lies not only in the application of practices, but also in the impact of collaboration to spark innovation.It was with this value in mind that I prepared this year to attend The Beryl Institute Patient Experience Conference for the first time.
