Like most other event organizers in the city, Baltimore Beer Week founder Joe Gold was worried about what April's riots - and the police trials that have followed - meant for his annual beer festival. April's unrest was six months removed from the Oct. 9-18 event, still Gold was concerned it would mean fewer participants and lower sponsorship.
