BFC: St. Pete financial firm slims down

Bankers Financial Corp. has sold its life insurance business. Bankers Life Insurance Co. is now owned by Global Bankers Insurance Group, an insurance affiliate of Eli Global in Durham, North Carolina. Bankers Life Insurance will maintain its own name and remain based in St. Petersburg, a news release said. The sale price was not disclosed.
