We love this beautifully simple Italian vacation rental, with its strong, straight lines, and its abundant use of larch wood blending the minimal furnishings with walls and floors. Windows are alternately large, with striking views of meadows and mountains, and small slits peeking outwards from different levels of the walls. For all its minimalist appeal, the chalet is also very cosy, with a built-in wood-burning fire, down-filled pillows and quilts. The main chalet is split over two levels, with a living, dining and cooking space on the ground level, and two bedrooms on the upper level. An additional cabin next door has a bedroom with two single beds, as well as shower room and WC. The property is located inside a nature reserve, making the views exceptional and the surrounding landscape great for exploring. ADDITIONAL FEATURES Both buildings have satellite TV. The kitchen has refrigerator, freezer, induction cooker, convection oven, dishwasher, pots and pans, crockery, glasses, cutlery and basic goods. The bedrooms have anti-allergenic mattresses, down-filled pillows, down-filled quilts, bedding, towels, bathrobes, hairdryer and slippers. AROUND The property is located in the Fanes-Sennes-Prags nature park among the Dolomites - a UNESCO World Heritage site. In nearby San Vigilio, there are grocery stores, a bakery, butcher, delicatessen shop, chemist, sport shops, a bank, a petrol station, and ski lifts to the Kronplatz. Winter activities include skiing and snowboarding at nearby St Vigil/San Vigilio and the Kronplatz with it 25 blue, 12 red, and 5 black category ski runs. Skiing is guaranteed from the end of November to the middle of April. Cross-country skiing is possible right outside the lodge, and there are 24km of trails nearby. It's only 2km to Pederü, for tobogganing and toboggan hiking. There are also winter hiking and snow-shoe hiking trails across the Fanes-Sennes-Prags nature reserve. In summer,the region is great for climbing, hiking and Nordic walking, with over 25,000 hectares of conservation area. There are also 600km of bike trails around San Vigilio.
