The delightful stone cottage has a great sense of style - and a story to tell. Located in the old town of Novigrad, minutes from the waterfront, it was originally home to a wartime photographer. When Boris Kajmak, a Croatian interdisciplinary artist and designer, found it, it had been empty for many years.The property is now full of life, with its many original features preserved. Special attention was given to finding a balance between local architectural traditions (carefully conserved by the local government), local materials and elements of contemporary design.One of the most interesting features is that it is reached via an internal courtyard. The house itself is very intimate, yet the courtyard opens up to the neighboring houses, giving it a great sense of community - a bridge between public space and private.We love the exposed beams and stone walls, as well as the wooden floors decorated with splashes of tile, and the upstairs bedroom with freestanding clawfoot tub and woodburning stove.
