Buerkle Honda Blog Energy Efficiency - Beyond the Office Building

Energy efficiency isn't just for office buildings and apartment buildings. Buerkle Honda is proving that with a Silver award in Environmental Leadership from American Honda. This award has been earned by less than 10% of Honda's network of over 1,000 dealerships in the United States.Achieving the award takes long-term commitment to operating an efficient facility. We began this process while planning an expansion to meet a growing customer base. The planning process for the remodeled facility, combined with construction, lasted several years and was finished in 2015. We are proud to have earned this recognition.Among other factors in the award are heating and cooling energy reduction, energy efficient equipment, occupant sensors and lighting timers, and efficient LED lighting. Fun fact: our carwash - which processes hundreds of customer cars every week - uses a closed-loop water recycling system!Representatives of American Honda came in to present the award with Dave Buerkle, co-owner and Dudley Peterson, Buerkle Honda General Sales Manager.
