Building Industry Association Of Lancaster County Blog Ten Reasons to Come to the BIA Spring Home Show

The biggest news in the BIA this week (this month, really), is the 41st annual Spring Home Show at Spooky Nook, where 145 companies are prepping and primping their booths to show themselves off to thousands of home-minded visitors this weekend. So, in honor of this momentous event, we're ticking off ten reasons you, your friends, and your family should make the journey to experience it.It's massive. The sheer size is something to behold, especially considering that it's a room entirely dedicated to home building and improvement, which we know you're passionate about. It's impressive. So many of the booths are a sight to behold, and getting to see what these members do first-hand is exciting and inspiring. From fully landscaped gardens complete with water features to gorgeous state of the art kitchens to luxurious bath vignettes, there is much upon which to feast your eyes. It's educational. This is a perfect place to see all that's hot in home building around here, as well as some of the newest, coolest technology to keep your home running at its peak convenience and efficiency. It's fun. You may get to win some prizes, you'll have lots to see, and you'll meet some great people while you're at it.It's professional. This show isn't rife with knife sellers and jewelry stands. Here, you'll find some of our best, local, professional contractors who know a thing or two about their trade, and are showing it off in spades. It's worth it. If you're thinking about doing a project (or if you're a builder scoping out potential subcontractors), what better way to get a handle on what's out there than coming to the show, where you will get to see qualified vendors and contractors first-hand and talk to experts in person. That's way better then just internet shopping or driving all around the county to see everyone individually. It's got prizes. Many of our exhibitors are giving out gift cards, services, and more. That's not counting all of the extra giveaways and goodies you can pick up while you're there. It's free. Spooky Nook does charge a $5 per car parking fee for their lots, but the show itself comes at no charge. It' s got a "Tiny House" built by LCCTC students! It's generous. Bring a non-perishable food item to fill our "house" at the show (constructed by Duff Builders), and all that's collected will go to Columbia Food Bank to help those who may not have a home of their own right now.So, whether you're a home building professional, a homeowner, or a soon-to-be homeowner, there are plenty of reasons to come visit us at Spooky Nook this weekend for the little shindig we call the Spring Home Show. Hours are Friday, 1 to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit www.biaspringhomeshow.com. See you there!
