San Francisco-based Cafe X, an operator of robotic coffee shops, has closed its three locations in the city and laid off staff, Axios has reported. Cafe X CEO Henry Hu told Axios the locations were running "prototype" machines that logged consumer behavior data and that more advanced machines had been installed in San Francisco and San Jose airports.
