Carbone Subaru Of Troy Blog A Guide for Choosing the Right Subaru Crosstrek

If you're looking for a compact crossover SUV for your next adventure or just to get the most enjoyment out of your daily routine, then the Crosstrek is a fantastic option. As your Subaru Crosstrek dealer, we love everything this sporty model has to offer, but we also know that choosing the right one can be a bit tricky. There are five different Crosstrek trims available, with the differences between them being very important as you're looking at your options. While every Crosstrek is a fantastic vehicle, they also deliver different things, so it's important that you pick the one that's right for you.Don't worry, however, because we're here to help with this simple and convenient buyer's guide for the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. We'll go over many of the major features and important differences between these five trims so you can decide which one is right for you. And if you're still not sure which trim best meets your needs, then give us a call, and we'll be happy to take you through your options and make sure you get the perfect vehicle. The Crosstrek BaseThis is the starting point for the Subaru Crosstrek with all of the basic and standard features of this compact crossover. It features a 2.0L Boxer-4 engine that delivers 152 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque which comes paired with a six-speed manual transmission, something that's pretty rare in modern SUVs. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is available, and it comes with Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) along with the ability to handle up to 1,500 lbs of towing. In terms of fuel efficiency, you get an estimated 22 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway with its standard manual transmission, but the available CVT boosts that up to 28 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway. You get manually-adjustable front seats in the Base trim, along with cloth upholstery, a standard steering wheel, and basic interior features. The Base has an instrument cluster with a 2.4-inch display plus cruise control, power windows, automatic climate control, and a 6.5-inch infotainment display with a four-speaker sound system. Standard safety features include a comprehensive airbag system along with brake assist, but advanced features are only standard on models with the available CVT.The Crosstrek PremiumMoving up from the Base to the Premium trim keeps a lot of the mechanical features the same on the 2023 Crosstrek but gives you more luxury items and options. In general, the Premium has the exact same engine and powertrain as the Base, but its available CVT has an eight-speed manual mode and paddle shifters, slightly nicer than the available CVT on the Base model. Towing and fuel economy are generally identical to the Base Crosstrek.Inside the Premium, however, you'll find a wide range of upgrades from what you get with the Base. These include heated front seats along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an optional leather-wrapped shifter handle. The Premium features cloth upholstery with orange stitching for an added touch of sophistication, and it has Keyless Access with Push-Button Start available (you can't get it on the Base trim). You get a 6.5-inch infotainment display in the Premium, but it comes with a six-speaker sound system along with Wi-Fi capability and numerous additional improvements throughout the interior.?The Crosstrek SportIf you're looking for improved performance over the standard engine in the Subaru Crosstrek, then the Sport is the first of two trims you should consider. Rather than the standard 2.0L engine, the Sport features a 2.5L Subaru Boxer-4 engine that delivers 182 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque, providing you with more power and a fantastic driving experience. This comes with a CVT that features an eight-speed manual mode with paddle shifters standard and Subaru Intelligent Drive plus X-Mode to boost the performance of the Symmetrical AWD system. With the Crosstrek Sport, you get an estimated 27 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway.Inside the Sport, you'll find manually-adjustable front seats still, though they're heated. You also get a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather-wrapped shifter handle, plus standard StarTex water-repellent upholstery with yellow contrast stitching. The Sport features an instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch LCD screen, along with advanced features that include Keyless Access with Push-Button Start, a 6.5-inch infotainment display, and a six-speaker sound system, all standard. This model comes with numerous advanced safety features, including a Pre-Collision Braking System with Pre-Collision Throttle Management, a Lane Departure and Sway Warning, and Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering. The Crosstrek LimitedIf you like a gas engine, then the Crosstrek Limited is the ultimate expression of this compact crossover SUV and everything it has to offer. You get the same impressive performance as the Sport, with the 2.5L engine and advanced CVT for excellent performance and a very rewarding driving experience. Your choice between these two trims ultimately comes down to the kinds of comfort and tech features you're looking for.Inside the Crosstrek is where the Limited really comes into its own with fantastic standard features, including a power driver's seat and heated front seats. You get the leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter with the Limited, along with leather-trimmed upholstery with orange contrast stitching that looks and feels amazing. It features an advanced instrument cluster with a 6.3-inch color multifunction display, along with an eight-inch infotainment display and an available eight-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system. The Limited gives you all of the great safety features of the Sport, along with standard Blind-Spot Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Reverse Automatic Braking, and High Beam Assist. The Crosstrek HybridFinally, the Crosstrek Hybrid combines the great features of the Limited with a unique engine that you've probably guessed at based on the name of this trim. It has a hybrid version of the standard 2.0L DOHC engine with a combined 148 hp, which comes paired with a standard CVT that features Incline Start Assist. This model is highly efficient, as you'd imagine, with an estimated 90 MPGe using its hybrid system as economically as possible and up to 480 miles of range from a full tank of gas. You'll find great features inside the Crosstrek Hybrid, starting with a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, and unique leather-trimmed upholstery with blue contrast stitching that looks stunning and ensures you have a comfortable ride. The Hybrid has an excellent instrument cluster with a 6.3-inch color multifunction display that's perfect for keeping an eye on the battery charge and optimizing overall performance and efficiency. It has the same eight-inch infotainment display as the Limited, with the Harman Kardon sound system available here too, plus all of the same great standard and available safety features.Pick Your Performance to Pick Your TrimFocusing on the engines, it's easy to find the right model. Pick the engine and performance you want first, then you can choose from the two trims (or the single option for a hybrid engine). If you want the nicest features overall, then you'll want to go with either the Limited or the Hybrid, depending on your performance and fuel economy preferences, while the Base and Premium are both excellent choices if you're on a tighter budget. No matter what you're looking for in your next SUV, here at Carbone Subaru of Troy, we're ready to help you find it and make sure you drive away in the perfect vehicle.
