Layers of fluffy whipped cream, gooey caramel, sweet shortbread and cinnamon apples come together as the ultimate fall treat. When served in the Tiny Tasters mini trifle dish they are irresistible. Follow along with this simple tutorial and see how easily you can make this dessert!YIELD: Serves 3-6 PREP TIME: 15 min COOK TIME: 15 min TOTAL TIME: 60 min IngredientsCinnamon Apples3 apples, diced2 tsp lemon juice1/8 tsp nutmeg2 tsp cinnamon6 Tbsp brown sugar1 tbsp butterWhipped Cream*1 cup heavy whipping cream1/2 cup powdered sugar1 tsp vanilla extract1 tsp cornstarch*In a pinch store bought whipped cream will work just as well!Other ItemsShortbread cookiesCaramel SaucePeel and dice apples into small, even pieces. Place in a bowl and toss with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Place apples in a medium frying pan, add butter. Cook apples at medium heat for 15-20 minutes, or until preferred tenderness. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 15-20 min.While the apples are cooking go ahead and prepare the shortbread crumbs and whipped cream. Combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cornstarch in a chilled bowl. Beating on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form. Chill until ready to use. Blend shortbread cookies in a food processor until only fine crumbs remain. Now to assemble the dessert! Using desired serving dishes, we used the Tiny Tasters Mini Trifle Dish in this tutorial, layer the dessert as follows: whipped cream, caramel sauce, shortbread, apples and repeat.
