According to the Chicago Tribunes article the existing Home sale prices hit 7-year high Within city of Chicago, the median price of a home sold showed a strong gain, making it the highest price since August 2008. Condo sales in Chicago rose 9.3 percent, to 1,764 units : the median sold price of $320,000, up 2.9 percent from a year ago. The higher prices arent slowing the time it takes for a property to go under contract; in fact, it is quite the opposite. In Cook County, for instance, it took an average of 54 days for a seller to accept an offer on a property, and that compared with 56 days a year ago. In Kendall County, market time dropped to 55 days in May, from 75 days in May 2014, and in Will County, it slipped by 4 days, to 61 days on market. Within the city of Chicago, market time decreased to 46 days, from 50 days a year ago.
