Chromatin: Sacramento seed company makes $23 million bid for assets of agtech firm in receivership

Sacramento-based S&W Seed Co. has bid $23 million to buy the assets of Chromatin Inc., which include a portfolio agriculture technology related to sorghum. Sacramento-based S&W (Nasdaq: SANW) develops and sells alfalfa, sunflower, sorghum and stevia seeds. With a successful bid, it could add the assets of Chromatin as soon as October, S&W said in a news release. Chicago-based Chromatin was put into receivership earlier this year.
