Here is another interesting application for leveraging the power of Multivariate Optical Computing. We are working with our collaborators/partners to develop Multivariate Optical Element (MOE) based sensors to detect and identify Harmful Algal Blooms and/other toxic phytoplankton in real-time. Until we started working on this project, we did not fully understand how big of a problem/opportunity this really is....an economic impact of over $10 B annually! Plus it is just plain gross!
