This year has been tough for everyone, but the COVID-19 crisis has hit some more severely than others. According to a thinktank calling for an anti-poverty strategy, almost 700,000 people in the UK, including 120,000 children, have been driven into poverty by the COVID-19 crisis. Food banks saw a huge increase in usage at the start of the pandemic, and the Trussell Trust predicted that there would be a 61% increase in usage of their services from October 2020 to December 2020 compared to the same time last year.
