We love awards season. The glitz and glamour. The celebrities. The celebration of Hollywood and the film industry. And the seemingly-endless amount of events that we are so fortunate enough to help bring to life. It fuels our passion for what we do. For the past 25 years, Classic Party Rentals has provided a variety of event rentals for several events around town during Oscars weekend. This year, the Classic team began on-site preparation for these events two weeks before the ceremony, and roughly 40 Classic crew members and staff were on site all day, every day to get the jobs done - rain or shine. (And this year, there actually WAS rain!) Of the events Classic supported this year were two of the most star-studded, iconic parties of the weekend - Elton John's 25th Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party, benefiting the Elton John AIDS Foundation and the official Oscars after-party, the 89th Annual Governor's Ball. More than 600 celebrities and entertainment industry executives attended Elton John's viewing party, which was held at West Hollywood Park. Attendees included Caitlyn Jenner, Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, Laverne Cox, Tracee Ellis Ross, Vanessa Hudgens and Freida Pinto. Classic worked closely with Virginia Fout of V Productions, who designed and produced the event. We provided all tabletop rentals, including china, charger plates, glassware and flatware, as well as the Chameleon Chairs and linens. Additionally, Classic worked with Sequoia Productions once again to help dress this year's Governors Ball, the Academy's official post-Oscar celebration, with the appropriate rentals. The grand event, which has been produced by Sequoia Productions for the last 28 years, was themed "magical transformation" and catered by master chef Wolfgang Puck. The Ball's 1,500 invited guests included Oscar winners and nominees, show presenters and other telecast participants. Sequoia Productions described the design on their Facebook page. "This year's design, Magical Transformation, [took] guests through a sea of red into a blank, clean canvas of white with accents of Oscars Gold and Oscars Red. Inspired by cotton candy at the circus, this stunning ceiling design provides a canopy of gold and glamour." Painted with red and gold accents, the Governors of The Academy enjoyed prime seating. We thank all of our staff and crew, vendor partners, industry friends, and the sponsors who helped make all Oscars events possible this year. It sure was one for the books! The post Classic Helps Dress Elton John's 25th Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party and the 89th Annual Governor's Ball appeared first on The Classic Blog.
