Looking for a way to spruce up your living room or bed room for the Spring?Today we're going to show you how you can create your own lamp shade covers that will dazzle the eyes and inspire your friends to pick it up as well. The best part about it - it's super easy! This is a preview of our final product - So without further ado,First prepare the materials, you will need:- Big ball of Yarn- Elmer's Glue- An inflatable ball- Bowl for glue- Tub for holding the ball- Water (~1 water bottle worth) from your sink is fine.Helpful Hint - this can get a bit messy, we had glue all over the place and our shirts were stuck together at one point. Make sure you wear some sort of covering, maybe a plastic garbage bag to act as a poncho. Time:Prep- 5 minutesProcess- 30 minutesPost- 2 days (drying)Step 1Blow up your inflatable ball. Ours is 11".Step 2Pour your glue into the bowl you've prepared.Step 3Add water until the mixture is neither too thick nor too thin. For Elmer's glue it's about ...Step 4Draw a small circle on top smaller than the light fixture. Draw one for the bottom if you think you'll forget. Now that we are done prepping, let's get our hands dirty!Step 5Place the ball of yarn into the bowl of glue mixture and take a string of wet yarn out to begin wrapping the ball.Step 6Keep wrapping the ball...Step 7Now that we've finished wrapping the ball with yarn and leaving two openings (one small, one large), it's time to pour the rest of the mixture on the ball for a little bit more hold while the ball sits on top of a tub. Step 8Now it's time to let it sit on top of tub and dry for 2 whole days...Step 9After it's completely dried, find the opening and deflate the balloon. If you don't plan on keeping it, feel free to poke a small hole and let it deflate.Step 10Take out the deflated balloon and insert the light fixture and add the light bulb. You're all done!We hope you enjoy your time with this one, we sure did. This is also a great way to use Close5 as your storefront if you want to start selling these in your area. Please do send us your photos after you've tried - would love to see what you all come up with!
