Colgate: Colgate Stumbles in Regular Season Finale

BOSTON - HOW IT HAPPENED BU pulled ahead 14-10 with 5:05 left in the third. Rory Connor scored twice in the final 1:07, making it a two-goal game at 14-12, but the Raiders ran out of time. Hunter Drouin had cut the deficit to two at 12-10 with just under 12 minutes left in the fourth. Boston University outscored the Raiders 5-1 in the third. Colgate's lone goal came from Ryan Favaro at the 13:07 mark. Colgate took an 8-7 advantage into the halftime locker room after the Terriers netted two late goals in the second. The Raiders went on a 3-0 run earlier in the frame, starting with goals from Jack Turner and Favaro. R Connor then completed a hat trick with 3:50 left in the second, pushing the Raiders' lead to three at 8-5. The teams exchanged goals at the start of the second. The Raiders got two quick ones from the Connor brothers, but the Terriers answered, tying the score at 5-5 at the 5:22 mark. A back-and-forth first quarter saw the score even at 3-3 after 15 minutes. R. Connor got the Raiders on the board, and Turner quickly answered following a BU goal, making it 2-1 with 8:13 remaining. R. Connor then knotted it up at 3-3 off a nice feed from Andrew Kiefer . GAME NOTES R. Connor recorded his second-straight six-point game with five goals and an assist to lead the Raiders. Drouin notched four points behind two goals and two helpers. Matt LaCombe recorded 14 saves in goal. Max Yates , Sam Erickson , and John Carrabine recorded two caused turnovers. Yates collected four ground balls, while Erickson and Carrabine scooped up three. Kyle Rummel recorded 10 face off wins and picked up a team-high five ground balls. UP NEXT The Raiders earned the No. 5 seed in the Patriot League tournament and head to No. 4 seed Lehigh Tuesday for a quarterfinal matchup. Game time is yet to be determined.
