DoorDash: Marquette United Way Teaming Up With DoorDash For Food Deliveries

CLICK TO HEAR JACK HALL'S INTERVIEW WITH UW DIRECTOR ANDREW RICKAUER United Way of Marquette County, in collaboration with DoorDash, United Way Worldwide, Huntington Bank, and the Michigan Community Service Commission, is pleased to announce the availability of the DoorDash program to deliver crucial food and supplies from local food = pantries to individuals and families in the Marquette region. This initiative is part of the broader United Way Worldwide program and DoorDash's national campaign aimed at combating hunger. Andrew Rickauer, Executive Director of United Way of Marquette County, stated, "We are thrilled to bring this vital resource to our community. The partnership with DoorDash, particularly through their Project DASH initiative and Ride United Last Mile Delivery program, has already made a significant impact, delivering over 100 million meals nationwide since 2018. Now, with the generous support of Huntington Bank and the Michigan Community Service Commission, we are extending this support locally." This initiative is bolstered by DoorDash's national public awareness campaign. This campaign, in partnership with United Way Worldwide, Feeding America, and Meals on Wheels America, aims to connect with 30 million consumers across the United States. "This campaign is a powerful opportunity to raise awareness and provide direct assistance to those in need," Rickauer continued. "This program is particularly critical in the Marquette area, where access to resources can be limited for some residents." The Ride United Last Mile Delivery program focuses on delivering essential items to individuals and families who may face transportation barriers or other challenges in accessing food and supplies. "We are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive," Rickauer emphasized. United Way of Marquette County is actively promoting this campaign through its various channels, including social media and community outreach.
