Dot Origin: Proxama and Dot Origin team up to bring NFC to digital signage

Mobile marketing company, Proxama has announced a partnership with Dot Origin, a developer of near felid communication (NFC).The companies will aim to deliver a digital signage solution that will link NFC tags to video content for advertisers and media site owners.Digital adverts regularly change on digital signage, making it difficult to capture the information with your mobile when they desired advert is showing, and redirect them to the mobile web destination and user experience. The DTAG100 is a tool that that enables NFC tags to be easily updated via USB, making it possible to change the mobile web destination. This solution is cheap, and can be integrated into any digital signage enclosure in places like retail stores, airports, train stations and shopping centres, without the need for additional software.Niel Garner, CEO and founder of Proxama, said: “This is an exciting  opportunity for media owners. By integrating with Dot Origin’s specially designed hardware we are now enabling dynamic NFC engagements for digital signage. With TapPoint, brands can change the mobile ads shown depending on the profile of individual, location and currently displayed screen content.”The two companies demonstrated their DTAG100 digital signage solution at the Retail Business Technology Expo in London today.
