Dunes Blog Welcome NASCAR Racing Experience!

Beginning in April 2012, racing fans will have a new and exciting reason to come to the beach. You'll be able to get behind the wheel of a stock car and drive like Denny, Dale or Danica! And even if you're not a racing fan, how much fun will it be to watch "everyday" people driving REAL racecars, on a REAL racetrack at REAL racing speeds?After some guidance and safety instructions from your Crew Chief, you'll get into the driver's seat and actually race around the track. You'll have a 2-way radio, be allowed to pass other cars, and after speeding through the checkered flag, you'll receive a certificate documenting your highest running speed.The NASCAR Racing Experience is an attraction based out of Charlotte, NC that currently has tracks running at several other speedways, including Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Chicagoland. When they transform the former Myrtle Beach Speedway on Rte. 501 into its latest venue this spring, ours will be the only one operating year-round. So check it out and reserve your time slot.
