Elderwood: McGuire Group, Elderwood take in displaced nursing home residents

The region's two largest private nursing home companies are opening their doors to residents displaced by the pending shutdown of Absolut Care of Orchard Park. In the week since Absolut announced a bankruptcy filing and its plans to shutdown its 200-bed Orchard Park facility, 40 residents have elected to move to McGuire Group facilities, while nine new residents have moved into Elderwood sites so far, with additional applications now being reviewed.
