Dr. Mark M. Ashy was raised in Central Florida and graduated from West Orange High School. While attending high school, Dr. Ashy was a member of the Mu Alpha Theta math organization and the Latin Club. As a result of his involvement in these organizations, he was awarded Math Student of the Year of West Orange High School and received a Gold Medal on the National Latin Exam. He was also elected into the National Honor Society and was voted "Most Likely to Succeed".Following high school, Dr. Ashy attended the University of Florida where he received a degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition with a specialty in Nutritional Science. Dr. Ashy continued his education at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, earning a Doctorate in Dental Medicine. While attending, he was a member of the American Student Dental Association and the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity. He received the Senior Achievement Award in Oral Biology and is an honorary member of the American Association of Oral Biologists.
