eVestment signs on as Collaborative Women in Investment Management sponsor Submitted 23/07/2021 - 9:17am eVestment, a global leader in institutional investment data and analytics, has signed on as a sponsor of Collaborative Women in Investment Management (WIM), a global initiative focused on the advancement and development of female leaders of all backgrounds in the investment and financial services business. Comprised of CFA Societies, FPA Chapters and industry groups, Collaborative WIM includes about 80 supporting organisations across the US, Canada, Caribbean, EMEA and Latin America to demonstrate the commitment of the global finance community to inclusion and diversity. Launched in 2020 as a global grassroots campaign, Collaborative WIM works to create demand for diversity, to empower female and diverse professionals across all facets of the finance industry, and to establish a geography-agnostic community to share resources, information and best practices to promote a shared vision of a better, more inclusive world. eVestment will sponsor WIM's virtual social networking events in the third and fourth quarters, as well as the "On the Same Page" WIM quarterly book club. The third quarter WIM Original global virtual event, "Money and its Mind Games: Women, Money & Power," will feature speaker Marilyn Wechter, a financial therapist and wealth counselor. This event is slated for 9 September at 1pm EST, and will be hosted by CFA Society Oklahoma. The third quarter "On the Same Page" WIM book club event is slated for 5 August and will feature a live Q&A session with author Vikram Mansharamani, author of "Think for Yourself: Restoring Common Sense in an Age of Experts and Artificial Intelligence." Mansharamani is currently a lecturer at Harvard University and appears frequently in top media outlets including Bloomberg, The New York Times and Worth magazine. The live event will be held twice, once at 4pm London time (hosted by CFA Society Ukraine) and once at 4pm New York time (hosted by CFA Society Orange County). The fourth quarter WIM Original global virtual event will feature a panel to discuss "DEI Update: What Progress Have Women Leaders Made Post-Pandemic?", hosted by CFA Society New York on November 18. The fourth quarter "On the Same Page" WIM book club event will feature Andy Molinsky for a live Q&A to discuss his book "Reach: A New Strategy to Help You Step Outside Your Comfort Zone." Molinsky is a Professor at Brandeis University's International Business School, and his work has been featured in HBR, the Financial Times, the Boston Globe, NPR and Voice of America. The live event will be held twice, once at 5 p.m. London time (hosted by CFA Society Istanbul) and once at 4 pm New York time (hosted by CFA Society Edmonton). "Aligning with this new, high-powered group of women to promote female empowerment and leadership in the investment business aligns perfectly with eVestment's overall efforts in this arena," said eVestment Chief Marketing Officer Michele Shauf. "Understanding where we are with diversity in our business and how those statistics change over time is the only way to understand fully the work that needs to be done." "We are delighted to partner with eVestment to further inclusion and diversity in the finance industry," says Sarah Yao Schutzman, CFA, Managing Partner of Providence Heights Capital Management and Chair of the Collaborative WIM initiative. "eVestment will be a key player in helping to promote our shared vision through eVestment's own network, web site and social media channels and helping us understand how we're doing with this effort over time."
