Evraz Oregon Steel Mills is shutting down a big piece of its Portland plant, resulting in about 230 permanent job cuts, the company said Monday. Evraz said it will no longer operate its Portland spiral pipe mill, which turns steel coils made at the plant's rolling mill into pipes used for oil and gas transmission.
