Famous Amos: Famous Amos founder to speak in Wichita

Wally Amos, founder of the Famous Amos cookie brand, will be the featured speaker for the annual Wichita NAACP meeting at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Wichita Marriott, 9100 E. Corporate Hills Drive. Amos, 78, founded the cookie brand in 1975. He sold the brand to Keebler in 1998, which kept Amos on as a company spokesman. Amos also worked as a talent scout for William Morris and is best known for discovering Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel.
