The Nissan GT-R is a drool-worthy supercar. It includes an incredible engine and race-car technology. (1)The 2016 version should further enhance its reputation for delivering sizzling performance as the new model gains a few ponies, receives some additional features, and a special limited-edition trim joins the lineup. (2)OverviewThe Japanese car maker's GT-R model is pure temptation, even for those of us that have never made it to the track. And its definitely a steal if you're searching for a performance-tuned, all-wheel drive car with great features, (1) all of which are enhanced for the 2016. (2)Nissan's updated vehicle is available in four trims - Premium, 45th Anniversary Gold Edition, Black Edition, and Nismo - all of which are equipped with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6 pushing a jaw-dropping 545 horsepower and 463 pound-feet of torque. Power aside, you'll be shifting gears via a dual-clutch six-speed transmission with three driver-selective modes, and features like downshift rev-matching, pre-shift control (in R-Mode), limited-slip rear differential, four-wheel anti-lock brakes and hill start assist should further enhance the vehicle's amazing driving dynamics. Plus, Brembo brakes for top-notch stopping power, and a Bilstein DamTronic suspension system that includes three driver modes to help manage ride quality, also add to the GT-R's overall charm. (3)What's New For 2016?In addition to the above-mentioned features, the 2016 Nissan GT-R Premium and Black Edition gain five ponies, (2) the base model can be seen sporting new 20-spoke RAYS aluminum-alloy forged wheels with premium dark finish - a nice upgrade from the 10-spoke design offered in 2015 (4) - and a 45th Anniversary Gold Edition comes with limited availability, much like the Nismo. (3) Less than 30 of the automaker's special models will be offered in the U.S. this year. (5)The Gold Edition's more notable features include "Silica Brass" paint for the exterior, a gold-tone VIN plate found under the hood, and a commemorative plaque located on the center console.
