Flipkart: IRDA fined Flipkart Rs 1.06 crore for this insurance related violation; here's how it impacts policy buyers

IRDAI has penalized Flipkart Rs 1.06 crore for violating e-commerce norms related to online insurance distribution. Flipkart was found redirecting customers to an insurance intermediary instead of the insurer's site and for continuing to solicit insurance even after its registration expired. The company also lacked sufficient trained personnel to support policyholders and reportedly continued to engage in these practises until IRDAI actively intervened.
