Fremont Hills Country Club Blog Ball Flight Laws

When it comes to teaching, there are a million different philosophies. The Ball Flight Laws are something that a few of you have probably heard of before. The old laws basically said that your golf ball will start the direction of where your club path is going and curve based on the direction the clubface is pointed. In example, if you swing the club inside to out and the clubface is closed, you would hit a draw. if you swing the club inside to out with the face square, you would hit a push. Thanks to new technology like Trackman, we have found that these old laws are not true. The golf ball will start mostly on the direction of where the clubface is pointed at impact and curve based on the club path. In example. to hit a draw, a player must have the clubface open at impact relative to the target and swing the club from the inside to out to get the desired draw spin. This has revolutionized teaching. With this knowledge, you can learn what will truly make your golf ball do what it is you want it to do! Thanks.Brian Bennett
