Fremont Hills Country Club Blog PGA Professional National Championship

I haven't played in any events this year up until now. I had a few health issues that caused me to be out for a while but I am finally back to full health. I just got back from the Midwest Section PGA Professional Championship that was held in Topeka at Firekeeper Golf Course. It was a 54 hole event with 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The top 4 from this event qualify for the PGA Professional National Championship that I got to play in last year. I shot rounds of 74-70-70 to finish -2 for the tournament. That was good for a tie for third place. I am officially in the PGA Professional National Championship next June at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, NY. It was a long, hot week in Topeka with plenty of up and down holes for me. I had a great finish that last day that pushed me through. I went birdie, par, birdie, birdie on my last four holes to finish -2. Looking forward to getting my second opportunity to play in this great event. It will be held on June 26-29, 2016. Golf Channel will have live coverage again also. Click here to see more info on the event. Thanks.
