So as I approach my 60th birthday, I'm feeling quite fearless...and a little old. So this is my first attempt at blogging (yup, I'm giggling a little, too!). I received a gift from a beautiful and generous woman named Jenn. A book of daily meditations by Melody Beattie called Journey to the Heart. I highly recommend you get one for you and one for your BFF. Yesterday's mediation was named Treasure your Experiences. This reading inspired me to share experiences from our recent family vacation to San Miguel in the Azores. San Miguel is magical to me. There are things I cannot believe could be so breathtaking. Green, green, everywhere! Such a gift from all the whiteness of home. But the true gift was being there together as a family. With my sweet godmother Ressy, now 87 years young, who announced on day 4 of our 5 day vacation that we needed to stay 2 more days (and we did!). She kept up with our every step. Roaming the streets of Ponta Delgada and Furnas, and even dipping into the hot springs. She is truly my inspiration! My son, Ryan and his beautiful wife, Tammy are so much in love. My grandaughter, Kristen, is so excited about her future as a social worker. I couldn't be more proud. And Chris...floating in the hot springs together. We just couldn't stop smiling at each other all week. We traveled, laughed, drank and ate way way too much in those seven days. Swam in the hot springs....sometimes twice a day. Watched as our bodies and our skin was transformed by the heat and the magic minerals. Out visit to the spa at The Terra Nostra Garden Hotel in Furnas was amazing. Loved that COMFORT ZONE products were used in every single service. Another magical surprise. So..gather experiences. Go through them. Select the gems from each. Listen while others tell their stories, their adventures, and show you their jewels, the truths that they have learned. Then when you break bread and sip soup with others, open your heart and joyfully share what has happened to you along the way. "Having experiences is called living.
