The Georgia Peanut Commission has approved $423,036 for research in the 2016-17 budget year. Projects that will receive funding include 30 research proposals submitted by University of Georgia and USDA Agricultural Research Service, reports Albany Herald. Georgia's peanut growers invest $2 per ton each year for Georgia Peanut Commission-sponsored research, promotion and education, the paper adds.
