Great Plains Energy: Great Plains-Westar merger - and $59M in credits to customers - coming this summer

Great Plains Energy Inc.'s planned merger with Westar Energy Inc. appears to have a clear road to closing in June. The utilities received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Feb. 28 and reached settlements with regulators in Kansas and Missouri last week.
