Great Plains Energy: Great Plains-Westar merger gets OK in Missouri, Kansas

Kansas officials have approved a merger between Great Plains Energy Inc. and Westar Energy Inc. during a special meeting in Topeka. The Kansas Corporation Commission approved the merger just before 4 p.m. on Thursday during a special meeting in Topeka, joining the Missouri Public Service Commission.
