Renault Korea announced on the 2nd that its mid-sized sports utility vehicle (SUV) 'Grand Koleos' received the highest score of 1st place among the SUV models evaluated in the 2024 Korea New Car Assessment Program (KNCAP). The automobile safety evaluation conducted annually by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority Automobile Safety Research Institute is conducted in 21 detailed evaluations in 3 categories: collision safety, external passenger safety, and accident prevention safety. In 2024, a total of 10 vehicle models were evaluated, and the Grand Koleos received a 1st grade with a combined score of 86.9 points. The Grand Koleos's main item scores are 53 points (88.4%) for collision safety, 16.8 points (84.1%) for outside passenger safety, and 17.1 points (85.5%) for accident prevention safety. In particular, it received full marks in detailed evaluation items such as side collision safety, intelligent top speed limiter, and lane keeping assist device, and was recognized for its high safety. The combined score of 86.9 points earned by the Grand Koleos is the highest score among all SUV models and domestic automakers that received automobile safety evaluations in 2024. Under the 'Human-First' development philosophy, which is the core value of the Renault Group, and through extensive global collaboration and the efforts of domestic Renault Korea researchers, Grand Koleos began sales in the domestic market last September. Grand Koleos boasts excellent body safety by applying ultra-high-strength 'hot press forming (HPF)' parts to the body at a ratio of 18%, the largest in its class, and by applying a number of high-quality materials such as the new material 'Giga Steel' with a strength of over 980Mpa and advanced high-strength steel (AHSS). It also features up to 31 cutting-edge driving assistance features (ADAS) and convenience functions to enhance driving safety.
