Precision optics and photonics technology company G&H (Gooch & Housego) has acquired GS Optics, a designer and manufacturer of polymer optics. The $15.7 million acquisition, G&H said, is a step toward its creation of a North American Life Sciences Center of Excellence. GS Optics, headquartered in Rochester, N.Y., develops technologies that support medical microscopy, diagnostic imaging, and laser surgery, as well as analytical instrumentation and defense.
