In this newsletter, I want to quote the weekly message from my yoga teacher. "The weekend was a gentle reminder that when feelings and emotions get big, and it feels like it may be too much for the physical and mental body to bear, there is always the earth, the trees, the skies and the lakes to spend time with." I too think is is necessary to break the repetitive cycle of get up, make coffee, check emails, read the news and bemoan the state of the world. One of my favourite resources are the words of Rumi, 13th century Persian sufi poet whose words are timeless but relevant to the present. "Today, Like every other day,We wake up empty and frightened.Don't open the door to the study and begin reading.Take down a musical instrument.Let the beauty we love be what we do.There are hundreds of ways toKneel and kiss the ground." It's another way to say that we need take a mini-holiday and take time out for ourselves. That includes a walk in nature, listening to music that feeds our soul, doing something that edifies us and, of course, ( some self interest here) going for a massage. Consider that the latter is another way to connect with our core.
