Sainsbury's: Tesco, ASDA, Morrisons and Sainsbury's opening hours on Easter Monday

Most supermarkets will be open with reduced hours today (Image: Getty) The Easter weekend means many shops and supermarkets - including Tesco , ASDA , Morrison's and Sainsbury's - will have different opening hours. Sunday trading laws require retailers to amend their hours of operation across Easter and other religious celebrations such as Christmas. According to government rules, any site larger than 280 square metres must close on Easter Sunday , meaning the vast majority of supermarkets will have been closed for the entirety of yesterday, although smaller, convenience stores might have remained open. Whilst not required to close on Easter Monday, opening hours will differ with businesses operating with reduced staff who are also given a chance to enjoy the bank holiday. As a result, shoppers would be advised to check in advance to ensure that they are not left without essentials later in the day. The majority of Tesco operations will run from 8am to 6pm today, although customers should check their local store to ensure it is also operating these hours. Morrisons Morrisons operates 497 stores in the UK with the majority set to remain open this evening until 8pm. With all retailers, hours of operation for specific supermarkets, particularly smaller, convenience sites might vary. Customers are able to check their local store online via the supermarket's website. From tomorrow, supermarkets across the country will resume their usual hours of operation.
