Savannah Resources PLC (LON:SAV) had added several Portuguese and international consultancies to the team overseeing its Mina do Barroso lithium project in Portugal. The resource development firm said new appointments included firm Knight Piésold as lead on geotechnical and hydrological engineering and consultancy Quadrante to consult on transport and logistics. READ: Savannah Resources jumps as it discovers three new lithium deposits at Mina do Barroso project Savannah had also appointed Portuguese communications firm CV&A Consultores, with firm S317 Consulting recruited to develop a stakeholder management strategy, design a community engagement plan, and source EU funding for the project. Australian financial advisory firm Noah's Rule had also been brought on board as a funding advisor, with firm's Nagrom and ALS continuing to provide assay and metallurgical testwork services. VISA Consultores was also continuing to work on an environmental impact statement assessment for the project. The new appointments follow on from the recruitment of lithium consulting engineer Primero Group, which was appointed in July as the primary engineering group and lead manager for a feasibility study at the project. READ: Savannah appoints consulting engineer Primero Group to undertake Mino do Barroso feasibility study David Archer, chief executive of Savannah, said that the "high calibre team" now in place underpinned Mina do Barroso's "significance" in European de-carbonisation and the development of electric vehicles. He added that the feasibility study was "progressing well" and is aimed for completion next year. Earlier in November, the company was boosted by the discovery of three new lithium pegmatites in the Pinheiro deposit at the project, providing "significant potential" to increase the current mineral resource to its current figure of over 20mln tonnes.
