We've finished a big milestone by completing shipment of all domestic Quicksilver Bolts without Bridge - we're working next on Canadian orders followed by other international orders. Other color choices, like Modern Gold, start arriving next month.We have a big batch of Lockitron Bolt units with Bridge that are leaving our factory for our U.S. warehouse; we know many backers are waiting for Bridge, so we're excited that these units will be heading to your door soon. We're taking the extra time to add in additional Bridge diagnostic data to ensure that you have a strong connection to both your household WiFi and are within range of Bolt.Order Progress in DashboardWe know that talking about components and parts arriving from our factories doesn't always help you to identify where your exact order is in production, so we're now working to add order progress info to the web dashboard.This information will give you a better idea of whether your Lockitron is still being assembled or has completed assembly and is awaiting Bridge or shipment to our fulfillment facility. The status of your order depends on a lot of things including the color, when you placed your preorder, where you're located and whether or not you ordered Bridge. As such the old backer numbers no longer accurately reflect your spot in line.We cannot provide exact delivery dates, however, we recommend that everyone update their shipping address as soon as possible in anticipation of their Lockitron's arrival.Setting up Bolt and Need Some Help?Need a hand setting up your new Lockitron Bolt? While we can't offer phone support just yet, we're pleased to add another way to help with your set up.Bolts in the WildOver the last few weeks we took the chance to closely examine the data coming from all the Lockitrons now in the field to understand what's working and what needs improvement. Here's some feedback we've received from our users:In general we're pleased that the core locking and unlocking function has been very consistent; our goal is to ensure that Bolt is rock solid in its reliability. If you have any trouble with your lock, let us know - typically a firmware update or minor tweaks to your door is all that's needed to make sure you can rely on Lockitron.Out of all the units we've shipped we've seen about a 5% failure rate. The reason for these failures? A small handful of Lockitrons were shipped from our factory before being properly enrolled. While 100% electronically and mechanically functional, these units can't be fixed in the field and need to be exchanged.We've since resolved the bug by modifying our factory test procedures - and of course, we'll ship out a replacement right away if there is a problem. We're also incredibly pleased that no mechanical failures have been reported - this was one of the biggest reasons we moved from producing the crowdfunded Lockitron to Lockitron Bolt.Where does Bolt need polish?On the app side we're working on a number of new features and bug fixes. Consistent Sense functionality on Android has been the hardest feature to get right, with device fragmentation playing a big role.We're upgrading our Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity in our Android app now and expect to have some of these improvements in our next app release shortly.In addition we're using our larger deployment of Lockitrons to further improve Sense consistency. Metal doors, a lack of windows or RF interference can all contribute to supbar Sense performance, however, we're working on a number of strategies to help out in these cases.New Apps for iOS and AndroidWhile most of what we talk about is on the hardware side of Lockitron, we spend a greater amount of time working to improve the firmware that lives on Bolt and the iOS and Android apps that reside on your smartphone. We recently pushed out massive updates to both the iOS and Android apps that bring us to 3.0.Along with a big visual overhaul to simplify locking and unlocking, these updates also allow for the set up of any version of Lockitron or Bridge. They also feature significant Sense updates, bug fixes and feature improvements.We have a number of other feature improvements, bug fixes and and new functionality coming in version 3.1 of the app which will be heading to our beta users later this week and app stores this month.
