Lowe's: Lowe's hosts Bucket Giveaway to support flood recovery in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, KY - In the wake of severe weekend flooding, Lowe's of Bowling Green launched a relief effort Wednesday morning, distributing more than 230 free cleanup supply buckets to residents. The giveaway is part of Lowe's ongoing "Bucket Brigade" initiative, designed to provide immediate assistance following natural disasters. The buckets, filled with essential items such as bottled water, trash bags, flashlights, sponges, and hand sanitizer, were handed out starting at 10 a.m. at the store's location on America Lane. Residents lined up early, many still dealing with floodwater in their homes. Lowe's Store Manager Madison Fields said the team has seen firsthand how the flooding has affected families across the city. "We've had a lot of customers come in, and share their stories with us," Fields said. "Right now, we're seeing a lot of people that are still waiting on the flooding to recede before they can even assess the damage." Fields emphasized the importance of community connection and support during this time. "Our first priority is to be there for our customers," she said. "We'll continue to do everything we can to donate to our community and show up in any way we can." This effort is part of a larger national initiative. Since 2017, Lowe's has distributed more than 100,000 buckets and totes in response to disasters across the country. In addition to today's giveaway, store shelves are stocked with items like sump pumps, dehumidifiers, fans, and tarps to support ongoing cleanup efforts. The event served not just as a distribution of supplies, but as a reminder that Bowling Green residents are not facing recovery alone. Copyright 2025 WBKO. All rights reserved.
