Doesn't it seem a long break with Christmas and the New Year? I think so! As I worked over the period in 2014 I decided to take the 2015 break off in its entirety - but talk about being BORED part-way through! I was itching to get out there with the lens, but the emotional pull of spending time with the family won through.Anyway, I'm back at the coal-face as it was, and today's work made for rather pleasant viewing even though the temperatures were around 4C and I was stood around for three hours in a bitter wind and then rain. I digress, but at least the resulting images from today's work seem reasonable to say the very least. ©Lynda Bowyer Each New Years Day for the past three decades has seen a parade wind its way through the streets of London, whose masonry echoes to the sounds of marching bands and groups. Today's procession was no exception and on this, the 30th anniversary of the London New Years Day Parade, we had the pleasure of Canadian illiusionist Darcey Oake perform a literally breath-taking stunt in front of thousands of people who lined Whitehall. Added to that were many cheerleading squads, colorguard groups and marching bands, it at least soothed my dreary mood whilst out in the wintery elements.The cheerleaders were certainly cheery, and the music was toe-tapping at times too.
