Last month, Alaska West Express hosted the North Pole High School auto shop class in Fairbanks. Tim Faultner (pictured above), Director of Maintenance, and Mark Pliska, HSSE Specialist, provided a tour of the maintenance shop and talked about what it's like to be a Lynden mechanic. "This was a great outreach activity with very positive feedback from the school faculty and students," Mark says. "The tour was part of our overall mechanic apprenticeship/recruiting initiative that we implemented a year ago. Develop, recruit, and hire locally to meet current and future employee needs."
Lynden is a Washington-based transportation company that provides integrated freight transportation and logistics services for industrial applications.
